ew research proves that lesbian women’s brains do not work the same as heterosexual women’s brains. Now, I know you may be saying, “Wow, research was needed to prove this?” Hang in there; it was what was discovered that is of interest.

At the Stockholm Brain Institute of Neuroscience, Dr. Ivanka Savic continuing her research on the homosexual brain discovered that the anterior hypothalamus was activated in homosexual women when they were exposed to the pheromone ESTRATETRAENOL estra-1,3,5(10),16-tetraen-3-ol (EST) a female pheromone that normally attracts men. This was verified with positron emission tomography that was used to monitor the brain while exposing the women to these human pheromones. The results show that lesbians react to pheromones in a similar way as heterosexual men.  I say, “Damn, more competition, and they know where all freaking the buttons are.”

Amazingly, Dr. Ivanka Savic was asked if this meant that programs to change a person’s sexuality would possibly not work. (I didn’t even know there were programs to change people’s sexuality.) She said: “We have no proof, but I anticipate in the majority of people these programs will not work.” Of course many are thinking, “What, no pill to cure lesbianism? But, if we only had anti homosexual pills we could give them to all of our children just in case.” You know, “My daughter is acting a little strange Doc, do you think we should give her some of those lesbigone pills?”

Now others want to argue…I mean debate over what the research proves. Some people believe that this is further proof that homosexuality is natural and simply part of being human. Others believe this proves nothing, as we do not know if people are born this way or if this could be a learned behavior that changes the way the brain works over time, and still others don’t even believe that the pheromones used in this study exist. Go figure.

Oh well, what is a person going to do? All I know is this, if I was a female, I would definitely be a lesbian. You would know it was me, I would be the one with the mustache. Sexy!

Don't resist the pheromones baby

I was bumbling around on Hubpages.com the other day when I came across an article about pheromones. ( A subject that is dear to my heart) It asked the question as to whether or not it was fair to use pheromone cologne when dating women. It appears that the Asian gentleman that wrote the article was using pheromones. A female friend of his discovered the fact, and became incensed over it.

Now in my world, I assume that women do everything in their power to attract and seduce the men, or man, that they desire, including wear pheromones. I’m talking makeup, hair, clothing, push up bras, jewelry, phoo phoo, and lies if need be to get the job done. That doesn’t even mention surgeries and manipulation. But, is it fair? Should guys sort of wait around and hope that a female will like them for who they are. How dare these men try to manipulate women to gain points in their eyes.

Since we are talking fair I should tell you that I know that all women are not the way that was mentioned above. But in general women are far more deceptive and manipulative than men. Most likely from millions of years of having to deal with these brutes they had to become manipulative as a way to get what and where they wanted without getting hurt or killed. Not to mention the fact that they had to compete with all the other women manipulating their way through stone age society. But, I’m off track here.

All is fair in love and war. Or is it? After reading this and mulling it over in my own head for awhile I decided to start bouncing it off of a few of my friends, male and female. Most felt that getting someone drunk and taking advantage of them was far worse than using pheromones. They actually kept bringing this up on their own. I’m not sure if I should be offended.

There were a few that felt that it was wrong to use pheromone colognes at all. The ones that felt it was wrong were mostly women, except for one Christian guy that I know who felt that pheromones and seduction was the work of the devil. Wow, Satan may be involved. Pheromones the work of The Devil, I never suspected.

The majority, male and female, felt that it did not matter because pheromones do not drug a person or make a person do something they are not already leaning towards. They just help push them over the edge.

So, there you have it. Social statistics say, Pheromones are OK for use in dating, as long as you don’t get anyone drunk first. Oh yeah, and Satan may be involved. There is no absolute confirmation on this as of yet, as the Vatican has not returned my emails.

Wait, don’t panic. Sadly the pheromone marketing obsession may be making us ignore an important discovery. It is a little like hearing about vitamins from a messed up drug dealer on the street corner. When you get over your encounter with Mr. Dealer, you are not going to think of vitamins in the same way as a person who had heard about vitamins from GNC or Vitamin World. (Top selling vitamin stores in the USA)

I believe the same thing is happening with marketers and pheromones. (Warning! I am a pheromone marketer) With that in mind let’s take a look at pheromones.

A good number of people still believe pheromones are the same as X-ray glasses sold in the back of comic books. While others have been using them for years. To be sure, they are used a great deal by government agencies worldwide. Business uses them daily. You may even use them. Of course, I’m referring to the pheromones of insects and animals.

It was well known by the late 1970s that females of the insect and animal kingdom produced chemicals for attracting males of the same species. The control of pests was the main reason for the manufacture of pheromones at this time. Pheromones were being used to draw or repel bugs and animals. Pheromones were already protecting crops from damage. Roaches were checking in and not checking out. (A catchy phrase from the Roach Motel trap commercials that used pheromones to lure roaches to a sticky death) At the same time scientist were working hard to find and prove the reality of human pheromones.  Evidence was found, but would not rise in the public mind until the middle of the nineteen eighties.

Human pheromones made front page news in 1986 when Researchers at the Monell Chemical Senses Center of Philadelphia offered their findings to the scientific journal Hormones and Behavior, as well as to the public by way of:

•     Time Magazine: “Studies find that male pheromones are good for women’s health.”
•     News week: “The Chemistry Between People: Are Our Bodies Affected by Another Person’s Scent?”
•     The Washington post: “Pheromones Discovered in Humans.”

Yes, the human pheromone was intense news in the eighties. During this time it was discovered that women’s health was related to the male pheromone. It was shown that men’s pheromones aid in the maintenance of a women’s health. To be more accurate, they keep a woman’s reproductive system healthy.

A strong testosterone rich male pheromone signature somehow encouraged a woman’s body to keep itself healthy and young. Pheromones can steady the menstrual cycle, and decrease the symptoms of PMS. It was found that pheromones could lift a woman’s mood, in point of fact alleviating depression, even postponing and then alleviating menopause

How did we travel so far from the pheromone research that was occurring in the eighties? Shouldn’t we by trying to use pheromones to give women a better life? Strike that. We should be using pheromone products to make people’s lives better, helping to allow pheromone research that will get more data connected to health and longevity.

In the case of pheromones I think we killed the message instead of the messenger. Using pheromones for attraction is not bad or wrong. I think that it is a good idea. People or press don’t say much about it, but many of the pheromone products on the market today that are used for attracting women often times contain the very same pheromones that showed all those health elevating benefits. Yet everything is just about seduction and there is no indication that it is good for females.

I’m afraid that even my own company is guilty of the same marketing. We focus heavily on the seduction and attraction side of pheromones as this is where the money is, but that is not the only reason. We would like to increase the amount of information related to the health benefits of pheromones for both men and women. However the moment we do, then we would be making health claims and that can get complicated as it would attract the attention of government regulatory agencies. This may be why no pheromone companies talk much about the health benefits of pheromones.

I personally would like to see more research on pheromones and health, as well as, the isolation and production of new pheromones.

I have always been tolerant, waiting until they were snuffled out and lying like a satisfied feline. I even thought on many occasions that if they were cats they would be purring. I just figured it was nature doing what nature does. Understand, I’m not saying this to boast. I actually believed that this was the way the world worked. Women just like the way men smell. At least I thought that, until one certain girlfriend upset my view of the world.

This specific girl, though she was romantic with me, was forever complaining about the way I smelled. Trying to make me shower more and wear deodorant and cologne. Now, I’m a clean man but I only wear light cologne and I never wear deodorant. Yeah, I know it sounds uncivilized but it had always worked for me.

Besides, I personally believe that the aluminum in the deodorant penetrates the skin and starts moving in the body. The Fluoride in your toothpaste lets it cross the blood brain barrier and, Abracadabra, you are an idiot. Ok, maybe not that immediate but it’s just not something I want to take a chance of happening to me.

In any case, her continuous dissatisfaction with the way I smelled really set me back, as not only had women always loved my scent, I had always liked theirs. With this girl there was none of the musky sweet smells that so fired my passions like other women had. She did not disgust me, she just did not inflame me.

I tried to talk about it with her but she had no concept of finding another person’s scent exciting. She was totally disgusted by my proposition that it was natural and stimulating. She had never experienced this with any man, and was in no uncertain terms, never going to find my scents pleasant.

Ok, I thought, assuming that I’m not just some crazy guy that thinks chicks love to sniff me, then there must be another reason for her not finding my scent pleasant and attractive.

I also wondered how many other women out their felt the same way as her, or at the very least had never met a man that did it for them.  Yes, in my heart of hearts I still felt that body scent would turn her on if she just found the right guy. Lock and key hypothesis, I was the wrong key, or she was the wrong lock depending on how you wanted to look at it.

Research: Since it was no fun fighting with her, (It didn’t even lead to passionate sex.) I started researching genetics and reproduction, which lead to pheromones. (This was a long time before I got into pheromones big time)

What I found: The Stinky T-shirt Study. In 1996, Claus Wedekind, at Bern University in Switzerland, conducted what’s now known as the stinky T-shirt study. Wedekind had 44 men of varying and established genetic types, each wear a t-shirt for two nights. The researchers placed each shirt in a box with a smelling opening. 49 Female volunteers were asked to sniff the boxes and describe each odor, as far as strength, appeal, and sexiness

Women actually liked the scent of men whose immune systems was genetically different than their own. In contrast, the odors were judged unpleasant when the male’s immune systems were genetically similar to the women.

This means, women picked men that offered the best genetic upgrade for their children by scent. Their babies would have stronger immune systems, better genetic options, etc. But get this, women chose exactly the wrong male when they were on oral contraceptives. They chose men similar to themselves that guaranteed sickly offspring.

My conclusions: My girlfriend and I were not made for each other. It did not matter that her physical characteristics were fine. Nature was trying to tell us that we would have little malformed mutant children, better known as MMC syndrome.

Danger Will Robinson Danger!

So, if there is no great passion, or your mate simply stinks, you might consider not trying to work things out. Go out to pick up some ice-cream and simply don’t go back.

Sometimes you should just pay attention to the pheromones.

t has been recognized for a long time that animals and insects communicate through sensitivity to scents and pheromones that they’re exposed to in their environments, as time goes by it is also being figured out just how much human beings are influenced by pheromones as well.

These unseen chemicals operate separate from the sense of smell and are interpreted by the human vomeronasal organ or similar tissues, (The vomeronasal organ has recently fallen out of favor as an explanation for how pheromones communicate with the brain.) Sending signals to the brain that help us understand many subtle things about other human beings. Pheromones hold with them a whole tapestry of primal signals scientists are only now beginning to understand.

Most people remain unconscious of the complex array of behaviors that may be influenced by pheromones, in particular in the realm of intimacy. Love seems complicated enough as it is before adding the potential of sex pheromones into the mix. However, they may be one of the main ingredients. Individuals perceive pheromones differently depending on gender, health, sexual orientation, and stages of life. Pheromones move us away from people who are poor genetic matches so that we can have healthy children.

Public opinion ranges from not believing that pheromones are even real, to the fear that they may make someone do things that they do not want to do.

Sex pheromones though popular, and justly so in the perfume industry should not be a cause for worry. People will not do anything that they were not already leaning towards. For the most part, pheromones offer a kind of sensual nudge rather than an overwhelming command to the senses. Natural production of a strong pheromone is often a subconscious answer to the advances of a welcome individual, and can’t influence anyone to do anything they would rather not. Someone you despise is not going to make you attracted simply because they apply pheromones. Unless of course you despise that special someone because you are attracted to them.

It’s actually exciting to contemplate that this chemical response is shared across cultures despite differences in courtship rituals and expectations. Pheromones are a part of what makes us human and yet proves that we are still part of the animal kingdom. One of those things that we have been unaware of for a long time but has always influenced us. Only time will tell exactly how many ways pheromones truly affect us.

hat is the lure of breasts? No, I’m not against breasts. Ok, a lot of the time I am, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Breasts are a good thing in my book, and I have been fond of them for as far back as I can recall. I have wondered about my own interest in breasts, as well as why men in general, and even women find boobs so interesting. Is it the softness, the different skin shade, the arc and tip, or the way the nips tell on you by pointing at you if you look at them for too long? Of course I never stare. I was referring to other men.

Breast hypnosis can maybe be explained by the breast hip to waist ratio that is ideal for reproduction. However, even this is only a partial explanation.

When I was in school I read that a survey of men was done, showing that men who were not breastfed as infants tended to statistically like larger breast than men who had been breastfed. The breastfed group tended on the whole to care less about breast size in general. Having been breastfed as a baby, I happen to like breasts of all sizes and shapes. However, I’m only one man so that does not prove anything.

Research has shown that rabbits have a pheromone around their nipples that tells the baby rabbits where the nipples are, even though the rabbits are blind. Amazingly, human babies demonstrate the same finding behavior as the rabbits, even when the human infant is blind. It has been suggested that the human nipple and areola may produce similar attracting pheromones. If that is the case the nipple pheromone would be considered an appeasing pheromone. Nipple pheromones would thus cause feeling of euphoria, safety, and love. This may be the reason that when we hug in general it is chest to chest, heads to each side. On the other hand if a person is hurting emotionally we tend to hug them with their head against our chests. Hugging someone’s head to our chest usually means we love them very much and or we feel protective over them.

Could the interest in breasts be an attempt at regaining this lost state of peace and happiness provided by these pheromones? Are we junkies hooked on the appeasing pheromones that the breasts or more to the point, the nipples produce? Could breast addicts need to get close to breasts to feel secure, accepted and loved? Do larger breasts promise to give a better more intense pheromone drug fix?

I have no idea. Maybe it is genetic, It could be so much fun to pinch nipples that you can’t see them without wanting to fulfill your genetic duty. More research and hands on testing is required. I will of course carry this research out until some sort of conclusion of this theory can be reached. I urge you to do the same and report back.
